The Record Crate has given the Certified Gold: Best Band From Paris With a Song in a Commercial Award to Phoenix!

When I got this album, I thought about immediately erasing the song 1901, due to its cameo appearance in that car commercial. Much to my surprise, that song is amazing when played in its intended form. That whole album from start to finish is amazing. I feel like the album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, is something to behold. It’s truly a unique blend of sounds that strike chords similar to the Shins, Of Montreal and The Clash. In addition, instrumental tracks are a true rarity these days on albums such as these. A testament to this, is iTunes releasing the instrumental track on their Fall Sampler, instead of other single-worthy songs like Lisztomania and 1901. It’s for all these reasons that Phoenix has been Certified Gold. Take a bow, boys.
