“John I Miss You More Than The Others. This One Is For You My Brother”

Since everyone’s already forgotten about Patrick Swayze and there’s no possible way anyone is still irritated over Kanye at the VMA’s, you need to sit down. I have something terrible to tell you.

Jim Carroll-Author of the book “The Basketball Diaries,” which spawned a movie by the same name featuring Leo DiCaprio-and the frontman of “The Jim Carroll Band” has died. At age 60, he leaves behind an ex-wife and a timeless legacy. I find it ironic that the biggest musical hit, was an homage to all of the people he has known through his youth as an inner-city New Yorker that died. Beyond that, his book “The Basketball Diaries” was a true story. A part-time basketball star, full-time junkie. Carroll was one of those geezers that wasn’t instantly identifiable, though everyone’s experienced him through various media platforms.

Rest peacefully Jim. You breathed life into the industry. Even when it was legally dead.
