Many of you probably know the roots from one of two places depending on your age. It’s either from “The Seed 2.0” or from them being Jimmy Fallon’s house band on his late night talk show. I’m here to tell you to abandon all hope, ye who enter here. This might be the best hip-hop track I’ve heard since the ball dropped on December 31, 2008. Mainly due to ?uestlove and his inability to stay inside the metaphorical lines of hip-hop (he was the chief musician behind the most recent Sly ‘N the Family Stone’s tribute CD), this song clues me in to what might be going on in his head, under that amazing afro of his. Take a listen and enjoy.
