Gang Starr's Guru in a coma?
It’s being reported all around the interwebs that Gang Starr member Guru is in a coma following going into cardiac arrest. We at the Redord Crate ask that you keep Guru and his family in your prayers tonight. If you’re like us, you’ll put on Moment of Truth and let the beats sing you to sleep. Stay up, Guru. We got you.

It was Only a Matter of Time. . .
I’ve never been in a legal battle on account of illegally downloading music. Coincidentally, I never planned on being in one and never intend to be in one. However, all that might change real soon. The Electronic Frontier Foundation had this to say on their blog about what’s next in the war on drugs…I mean copyright infringement. Most of you are probably familiar with...

The Morning Commute - Week of 2.22.10
I don’t even have this album yet to listen to in the car, but this is without a doubt this week’s album. I really don;t have a whole lot to say about this album. It’s a clever mix of alt-country, tinged with emo, though without all the self loathing nonsense. It’s not a feel-good record, but it’s not a feel-bad album either. Putting the negatives of pounding the pavement of the Pike aside, it gives me a ton of time to listen to new music. Where my walk to class in college gave me 15 minutes of new music each way, I’m fortunate enough to get a...

Just Hear Those Sleigh Bells Jingling
I’ve never gotten the whole noise pop thing. The most exposure I’ve ever allowed myself was reading about and watching Nathan from Wavves trip his way through a set at Primavera Sound ‘09. You know how they say first impressions are everything? They’re right. Then I listened to their track “No Hope Kids.” Good song, but it didn’t do anything for me....

Red Rover, Red Rover Releases the Weapons of Mash...
We’re pleased to announce that Red Rover, Red Rover’s Weapons of Mash Destruction Mixtape is up and available for download. This dude’s on fire right now. A (somewhat random) three-word description might yield that of “hardworking, alpha male, jackhammer.” Check it out in its two available formats: Get the continuous track here. Get the seperate tacks here. ...
